Mod Podge Jars

Are you looking to beautify your home with things that you create yourself? If yes, then this is the post for you! This very easy, diy Mod Podge craft, uses magazine paper and jars from your recycle bin to turn into beautiful and simple jars for your home. I have created two of these jars already, one that I use as a vase and the other I use to hold pencils. They are a couple of my favourite pieces in my home and they look so darn great on our countertop! Along with the pride that you get from making your own decor, they give off a very simple, artistic look with a pop of colour from your paper of choice. These also make great gifts that are thoughtful, simple and very cost effective!

Equipment

The only equipment you need for this craft are as follows:

  1. An empty container (I used an old peanut butter and icing jar).
  2. Mod Podge
  3. Paint Brush
  4. Magazine, flyer, newspaper or newsletter – I recommend using magazine paper that is mostly white to give off that very simple look, as you can see in the pictures.

Directions

Begin by hand shredding your paper into strips that will allow for easy attachment to the jar of your choice.

Using your paintbrush, begin to stroke a layer of Mod Podge onto the container. Then you will add strips of your paper to stick onto the Mod Podge. Once you have the paper flat against the side, you then add Mod Podge on top of the paper. Continue these steps until the sides have been fully covered with paper and a Mod Podge layer on top

All done, now to wait for it to dry

Once you have completed these steps, you just have to sit back, relax and wait for it to dry (might take a couple hours)! The Mod Podge gives a very glossy and clean look once it dries, that makes your art look super profesh!

Enjoy these awesome Mod Podge and paper jars that will add so much art and beauty to your home. Now, all you have to do is wait for all the compliments to come rolling in.
